The ACEM is a not-for-profit organisation, run by the members for the members. It is led by an executive committee, which is chaired by the President (Chairman) and has [No. #] other members. Reporting to the executive committee are a number of working groups, currently

• the events working group
• the communications group
• local issues group
• the external relations group

Membership of the executive is made via application and CV, once an ordinary member has been an 'active' member for at least one year and meets the advertised role specification. ACEM members vote in the executive committee member at the annual general meeting (AGM) or are co-opted if a vacancy arises until the AGM. Membership of the working groups is based upon relevant professional experience and again an application process is required.

The ACEM's day-to-day business is managed by [a ACEM director, events co-ordinator and part-time administrator].
